Upside Down Christmas Trees

It seems ironic that people looking for something a bit different for their Christmas decor are opting for an upside down Christmas trees. After all, it is not as if it is a new idea, as it dates back to Germany centuries ago.

However, upside down Christmas trees have been rediscovered and brought into modern, artificial form, and often pre lit.

If you put up an upside down tree, you can be sure that any visitor who has never heard of them will get quite a surprise when coming to your home in the holiday season.

Traditionally, early German Christians hung a pine tree from the season for Yuletide. No lights, of course, and no artificial trees, but that's what they, or some of them, did. Now that old tradition has resurfaced in the modern world, and you too can have an upside down tree this Christmas.

All the trees here are quite clearly artificial, and reflect the different types of upside down Christmas trees you can buy these days. These are all pre lit trees, but with obvious differences.

The top tree is a clever idea, being designed to hang in a corner that would otherwise go unused. In the center, is a tree to hang from the ceiling. Pre lit with 200 bulbs, this is more like the traditional upside down tree, and designed to hang like a chandelier. The final picture shows a different variation, with a floor standing tree that is just made upside down. This one is also white, rather than green.
