Outside Christmas Ornaments For The Garden - Plant Stakes
The trend to take Christmas decorations and ornaments outside into the garden seems to have grown over recent years.
And why not? If you live in a cold and miserable climate like England or North America, it is nice to have a bit of festive cheer in the way of Xmas decor outside on the trees or in the flower beds, on the shrubs or stuck in the ground. On the other hand, if you live in a climate that is warm in December, or hot, you probably want to spend time out in the garden anyway, so it is good to have some garden Xmas ornaments as well as the traditional indoor decorations.
Some people go for giant Christmas ornaments outside, maybe even covering the roof. However, there is no need to go to extremes. Garden or pot plant stakes provide a bit of colour in the garden, and offer a good and unusual prop for the usual Christmas ornament characters. They are simple to put in, and just as simple to take out.

The Christmas fairy is very much at home on top of the Christmas tree, but can be a good down to earth character too, as you can see top left. The range shown, in hand painted metal, are only small, and suitable for pots. They can be used inside, or outside in patio containers with good effect.
If you are looking for something taller, well you may find them in your local store or online, or you can use a smaller plant stake and tie it to a plain old garden stake so that the ornament itself pokes out in strategic postions around the garden.
By the way, the last picture is of a snowgirl, something of an unusual but welcome variation in the Christmas ornament range.
