Christmas Crafts For Kids - Santa Claus Craft Ideas
There is no doubt that kids love Santa Claus. There is also no doubt that kids enjoy themselves with arts and crafts, whether at school or at home. So, for the long Christmas holiday, you can be sure that Christmas crafts for kids will be a lot of fun for them. Plus, it could be some stress release for parents busy working and preparing for Christmas for much of December.
Santa Claus is much on young children's minds in the run up to Christmas, so he makes a great subject choice for a Christmas crafts for kids.
One idea is to make a Santa Picture. You can easily find Santa coloring books available during the holiday season. Select a picture from the book, then cut out a picture of Santa, and place it in the center of a sheet of white construction paper. Simply use a glue stick to fix the Santa picture to the paper. >>>

Once ready, hang it in a prime position in your home, so the kids can feel they have made a real contribution to the Christmas decor. Other Christmas Craft Ideas for Kids - Cards and Plate Ornaments
Santa Christmas cards are another good idea that your kids are sure to enjoy. Take another piece of white construction paper, measuring it to a size of 7x5 inches. Cut the paper to that size, then fold in half, horizontally or vertically. Try to get the kids to draw their own Santa on the front of the card, using crayons or colored markers. When the picture is complete, let your kids write Christmas messages inside the card. it is nice to display home made Christmas cards in your home, or even send to relatives and friends.
Another idea is to help your kids make a Santa plate ornament, which can be hung on the Christmas tree. For this you willl need crayons and markers, cotton balls, a paper dinner plate, and color sparkles. Draw Santa, without his red cap, on the plate with crayons or markers, then add the cotton balls to make his beard as before. You could, if you like, even glue the cotton balls into a V shape, to leave his beard overhanging the plate.
Additionally, you can use cotton balls can also be used for Santa's hair. For his eyes, use a blue marker to color them, plus a black marker to draw his spectacles. For his red nose you can use red food color. For a final touch, you could color the rim of the plate in red or green and sprinkle with color sparkles. The Santa plate can then be hung on the tree with the aid of an ornament hook.
