Your holiday season and Christmas decorations and ornaments need not all be the conventional green for the Christmas tree and wreath, red and white for the Santa Claus ornaments, and white for the snowman decor. Just as with your all year round home decor, it is a good idea to come up with a color theme for the holiday season.

I do not mean you need to repaint the entire house interior, unless you really love decorating that much. However, you could choose a color (in this case we have chosen a blue color scheme) and then gather together as many complementary ornaments in shades of blue through to white. They can look really distinctive and unusual.

Is it really possible to do that? After all, Christmas is not blue is it, unless you are feeling down in the dumps for some reason or another. However, White Christmas is the most played song of all time, so white is very much a a holiday season color. And, in my humble opinion, blue, especially the lighter shades, are the best complement to white. Maybe that is why blue is sometimes added to white to make it look even more white.

Being Christmas, it is almost certain you will want to add reds and greens as well, but blue is a good color choice for the dominant theme.
