Even if you do not believe in angels yourself, as Muslims, Christians and Jews do, they still have a part to play in Chrismas in many homes around the world. They play that angelic role in the form of Christmas ornaments, cards and decorations.

When it comes to the angels you see around you at Christmas, many no longer look anything like the ancient vision of an angel, as you may see in an angel garden statue. The traditional angel can still be found to maintain a religious core to your Christmas season, but for those who do not feel restrained by religion or tradition, there are some modern variations of angels to add to the Christmas decor.

The examples of Christmas tree angels in the pictures on this page may be scarcely recognised by some as angels at all. However, these are angelic ornaments, that's for sure, even if you do have to search for their wings.

The first angel for hanging on the tree is a colorful fabric ornament. She makes her earthly upmarket appearance in some style, with fabric clothing, bead and feather accessories, and some chic looking shoes not normally associated with the average angel.

The second angel (above left) is closer to the more familiar spiritual angel, who has featured in Christmas decorations and cards for many decades.. Even so, this is a simplistic hand crafted angel ornament, a keepsake for you to bring out for future festive seasons as a distinguished tree decoration.

The last picture features a vintage Christmas angel, a large and rustic variation of the ancient angel. She will certainly look the part watching over you from the Christmas tree during the holiday season.
